Collins Coaches Ltd is a medium sized travel company (30 employees) and is based in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan. We have been offering luxury coach and bus services for 45 years. Our impressive fleet consists of modern, high quality, air-conditioned touring coaches with an average age of 2 years. We specialise in coach tours throughout Ireland and the UK, day tours and city tours, airport transfers, corporate travel and private hire. We provide a high quality, multi-stop, commuter service between Monaghan, Louth, Meath and Dublin on a daily basis. Our fleet of award-winning coaches are among the most luxurious in Ireland. On board facilities include complimentary 4G Wifi, USB charging points, leather seats, air-conditioning, extra legroom, cctv, fridges, reclining seats, carpets. We have won numerous awards for our service, fleet and our day tour offerings.

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, the Transport Operations Executive will provide a quality support service to our drivers, customers and suppliers. Experience in a transport, logistics or a similar environment would be a distinct advantage but not absolutely essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage new business enquiries, quotations and bookings. Update our bookings systems for private hire and tours. Provide information to suppliers – driver and vehicle details
  • Administration of vehicle accidents, liasing with insurance companies and other third-party companies
  • Provide support to our drivers by monitoring/updating/troubleshooting IT systems – GPS, WIFI, Ticket Machines, Destination signs, CCTV, Tachographs
  • Monitor and manage passenger numbers and databases,
  • Monitor arrival and departure of coaches via GPS Tracking Systems to ensure they are adhering to the correct timetables
  • Periodic onboard ticket and revenue checks
  • Manage fuel cards and road toll accounts
  • Ensure vehicles have the correct paperwork and legal documents on board especially when travelling to other countries
  • Provide holiday cover for Customer Service and Finance Team including call handling and cash counting
  • Provide operational information to customers via social media – service delays, breakdowns, bad weather reports etc
  • Support the Customer Service team in dealing with lost property requests.
  • Assist with our marketing efforts – issuing quotations, updating timetables, monitoring and updating advertising displays at bus stops
  • Update databases and produce daily and monthly statistics. Monitor and record breakdowns, ticket machine issues, insufficient capacity on coaches, services cancelled etc
  • Assist with the rostering of drivers, managing annual leave, ensuring drivers have documented certification for various aspects of their job, issuing memos and updates to drivers when required
  • Assist the Transport Manager in scheduling vehicle servicing and maintenance, logging defects and arranging repairs. Update vehicle files including vehicle certification requirements – tax, insurance, psv, cvrt etc
  • Ensure sufficient supplies of driver uniforms and safety workwear, driver supplies, timetables, ticket machine rolls, tachograph charts, coins for floats, first aid kits, cleaning equipment, passenger lists,
  • Check our fleet periodically to ensure that cleaning and quality standards are being adhered to and report back to Transport Manager
  • Deal with queries from our drivers on a daily basis
  • Check driver timesheets on a weekly basis
  • Provide lifts to our drivers to/from garages whilst coaches are getting serviced and maintained
  • Upkeep of Transport office and depot by organizing cleaners, tradespeople, repairs, refuse collection and ensuring sufficient supplies of stationery, heating oil supplies, office furniture etc

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years in a busy office environment
  • Experience in a transport, logistics or a similar environment would be a distinct advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Possess a third level qualification
  • High level of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • High energy level, enthusiastic, flexible
  • Good organizational skills
  • Dedicated to getting the job done
  • Car driving licence

Salary: €30,000-€40,000
