10 Journey Tickets – Now only on Leap Card from 01 April

10 Journey Tickets – Now only on Leap Card from 01 April

From 1st April, commuters travelling on a Collins Coaches service will only be able to purchase an Adult 10 Journey ticket by using a leap card. It will not be possible to buy this ticket on the coach by cash or debit/credit card. All other ticket types remain unaffected. In a move that will speed up boarding times on our services and reduce paper usage, we are changing to a paperless system for 10 journey tickets. All other ticket types are unaffected. Students and Young Adults have already made the switch to Leap which has improved our loading times significantly. Paper 10 journey tickets sold on or before 31st March will still be accepted until their expiry date.

A Leap Card is a prepaid travel card that is the easiest way to pay your fare on public transport around Ireland. It is valid on most public transport services and commercial bus operators throughout Ireland.
You can buy a TFI Leap Card online at www.leapcard.ie or purchase your card at one of the hundreds of agents nationwide. Registering your Leap Card protects your travel credit if it’s lost or stolen. Once you have registered your card you can view your transaction history online, add more Leap Cards to your account or request refunds of your travel credit and deposit if you decide you no longer need your card.

How do I top-up my TFI Leap Card?

1. The most popular way to top-up your card is to download the Leap Top-Up app for free and use it to add credit when you like, check your balance and collect tickets
2. At TFI Leap Card outlets
3. Use Auto Top-Up for regular top-ups to be debited from your bank account
4. Online at leapcard.ie

Purchasing a 10-Journey Ticket on Collins Coaches using your Leap Card

• Present your Leap Card to the driver and request a Leap 10 Journey ticket to your chosen destination
• Place your Leap Card onto the Leap Card validator. The driver will then deduct the fare from your Travel Credit and your ticket will be issued to your Leap Card. The first journey will then be recorded on your card
• For the remaining journeys (which must be used up within 30 days), present the Leap Card to the Leap Card Validator as you board the bus. Listen out for the beep which records that your ticket has been successfully used.
Note: You can also use the credit on your leap card to purchase single and return tickets. The credit can also be used to purchase tickets with other transport operators that accept leap cards.
